Mr. Lawrence Ruggiero is a lawyer and registered professional engineer with broad military and industry experience. He serves as the General Counsel and Treasurer of FAMES®. As a lawyer, Mr. Ruggiero’s practice focuses on federal procurement law, and he is currently Senior Vice President and Assistant General Counsel of Science Applications International Corporation in McLean, Virginia. During his 26-year active and reserve duty career in the Civil Engineer Corps of the U.S. Navy, he directed numerous construction, engineering, and architectural projects, while leading, training, and mentoring other officers and civilians in the process. He retired at the rank of Captain. Active in the legal community for over 25 years, he has served on numerous non-profit boards and regularly provides pro bono legal counsel. He is a past President of Literacy Volunteers of America – National Capital Area, an organization dedicated to providing one-on-one tutoring of adults desiring to improve their reading skills.
Mr. Ruggiero holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy, an M.B.A. from Rutgers University, and a J.D. from George Washington University.
