Clare Drobot

 

Ms. Clare Drobot is a Pittsburgh based playwright and dramaturg. She is currently the director of New Play Development at City Theatre Company. Prior to that, she was the resident dramaturg/producing associate at Premiere Stages, the professional theatre in residence at Kean University. Clare also served as a literary associate for Passage Theatre in Trenton and ran the reading series [Untitled] at Happy Ending in New York City. Clare has worked in various capacities at Williamstown Theatre Festival, The McCarter Theatre, The BE Company, Laura Stanczyk Casting, and New Dramatists. She has helped to develop works by Dominique Morisseau, James McManus, Chisa Hutchinson, Noah Haidle, Anna Ziegler, and Keith Reddin among others. Clare’s work as a writer has been seen at venues including Ars Nova’s ANT FEST and developed by Luna Stage and Passage Theatre. She is co-chair of the 2016/17 Pittsburgh Emerging Arts Leader’s Steering Committee and a member of LMDA and the WGA.

Ms. Drobot is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon where she studied Creative Writing and Music Composition. She is the Director for FAMES’ Arts program, promoting STEM through theater.
