FAMES® | Finance, Arts and STEM
FAMES® is a registered 501(c) (3) non-profit organization dedicated to mentoring and educating underserved and underrepresented youth in Grades 4-12 in Finance, Arts and STEM subjects, through classroom support, after school, and summer programs. FAMES® programs inspire the students to attend college, bolster self-confidence, and help them develop a path for future professional success. The student’s accomplishment drives inclusion and participation in the diverse technology workforce of tomorrow.
FAMES partners with youth organizations located in underserved areas, all-girls schools, schools near military bases to support children of military families, and other non-profits with complementary missions.
High Impact FAMES Programs
The success of the FAMES program is underscored by reactions from students, parents, grandparents, educators and volunteers. According to student essays written at the conclusion of the year end program, 90% of the participants were inspired to attend college and to consider STEM careers, while others want to have careers in Finance, Theater Arts and and even to become military pilots and astronauts.
While FAMES’ programs are designed to encourage and inspire students, we in turn are encouraged and inspired by the reactions of our students:
“…it does not matter where you’re from you can accomplish anything.”
“…want to be an engineer or entrepreneur and doing good for the community.”
“…I like to learn new things. I like getting smarter.”
“…I want to learn more about Lego robotics and robotics in general.”
Parents, Grandparents, Educators, and Volunteers are excited about the student’s interest in FAMES® Programs.
